ESG-Environmental Criteria and their development.

As a reference document for their development, ESG criteria follow the most widely recognized international guidelines, such as: The United Nations Global Compact in its Ten Universal Principles, which derives from:  the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Declaration of the International Labour Organization on fundamental principles and rights at work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

The United Nations Global Compact in its Ten Universal Principles.

This pact establishes 10 Principles, which are presented below:
1: Businesses must support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
2: Ensure they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
3: Companies must defend freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
5: The effective abolition of child labour.
6: The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
7: Companies must support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
10: Businesses must work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
Based on these principles, the company that wants to abide by ESG standards establishes the guidelines for the development of its activities.

ESG: Environmental Criteria.

The ESG criteria of an environmental nature seek that companies understand the impact of their activities, direct and indirect, on the environment,  so these must be established as an objective to follow the basic principles of  responsible behavior in the areas of: environmental protection, climate change, quality standards, sustainable operations and products, resource efficiency and environmental education, actions that ensure that its business activities minimize the environmental impact of its operations and contribute to sustainable development.
Based on this commitment, the following principles are established in the following areas:
∞     Environmental protection. The company must adopt a preventive approach to reduce the environmental impact of its operations and manage the associated risks by following all appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks.
∞     Climate change. The company must prioritize operational efficiency to mitigate the causes of climate change.
∞     Quality standards. The company must ensure the implementation and monitoring of appropriate environmental standards and certifications (if required by law) in which it operates.
∞     Sustainable operations and products. The company must consider innovation as one of the key pillars for business development, seeking more sustainable solutions and products.
∞     Resource efficiency. The company must commit to using all the energy resources necessary for the operations of its services economically and efficiently, seeking the highest standards of sustainability, reducing the waste generated, using the appropriate programs to improve its efficiency.
∞     Environmental education. The company must recognize the importance of providing environmental education and training to stakeholders through awareness projects, energy efficiency programs, and promoting sustainable solutions.
