Fuels for electricity generation. Case: Coal.

From the point of view of coal management it is necessary to consider: the transport of coal to the plant, unloading of coal, transport to the yard, stacking and storage, preparation of coal, transport in plant, distribution to the combustion section.
The means of transportation of coal to the plant is vital in the conceptual studies of the plant, as they significantly influence the cost of fuel. As transport alternatives, they are: by water or by land. By water, you can use oceanic boats, oceanic and river barges. By land, you have transport by train, by trucks, by conveyor belts. In addition, the unloading systems of the means of transport should be mentioned, being: clam ladle cranes, continuous bucket ladder, vertical screw, boat, used for ships and barges. In the case of trains: carriage haulers, trolley unloader, trolley agitator, de-icing system and discharge hopper.
As for stacking and storage, you can have different configurations, which in the conceptual study should be considered for the type of installation to be designed. Among them are: fixed conveyor, radial stacker, traveling stacker, bucket wheel, reversible lifting conveyor, mobile tipper, portal applicator-claimer, stationary feeder, mobile equipment, rotary rake feeder, conical pile, silo, semicircular pile, long triangular pile, barn, flat stop pile, etc.
